Recalibr8 billing and plans
Recalibr8 has two independent subscription types. Your app subscription controls account-level product access. A Marketplace strategy subscription gives you access to one creator’s strategy. Paying for one does not automatically include the other.
| Subscription | What it controls | What it does not include |
|---|---|---|
| Recalibr8 app subscription | Real-money trading access, strategy-creation limits, and the account-wide monthly profit cap | Automatic access to paid Marketplace strategies |
| Marketplace strategy subscription | Access to a specific strategy published by another creator | The app subscription required for real-money trading |
App subscriptions
Section titled “App subscriptions”App-plan limits apply across your Recalibr8 account, not separately to each strategy or device.
| Plan | Strategy creations | Trading mode | Monthly profit cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 1 | Simulation only | $0 |
| Premium | Up to 2 | Real-money trading available | $1,000 |
| Premium+ | Up to 5 | Real-money trading available | $10,000 |
| Enterprise | Custom / unlimited | Real-money trading available | Unlimited |
Use simulation to explore Recalibr8, learn how strategies behave, and create one strategy. Free does not permit real-money trading and has a $0 profit cap.
Premium
Section titled “Premium”Create up to two strategies and use eligible strategies with real money, subject to an account-wide $1,000 monthly profit cap.
Premium+
Section titled “Premium+”Create up to five strategies and use eligible strategies with real money, subject to an account-wide $10,000 monthly profit cap.
Enterprise
Section titled “Enterprise”Enterprise provides an unlimited monthly profit cap and sales-assisted billing. Strategy-creation allowances and other commercial terms are confirmed in the applicable Enterprise offer.
Web and mobile prices can differ. Apple App Store and Google Play prices may be localized, and taxes can vary by location and checkout channel. The price, currency, tax, billing period, and renewal terms shown in the checkout you are currently using are authoritative. See Web vs mobile pricing before purchasing.
Marketplace strategy subscriptions
Section titled “Marketplace strategy subscriptions”Marketplace subscriptions provide access to strategies published by other creators:
- A strategy can be free or paid.
- A free strategy has no Marketplace subscription charge, but real-money trading still requires an eligible app subscription.
- A paid strategy subscription is separate from your app subscription.
- Creators receive 85% of Stripe net proceeds after processing costs. Recalibr8 receives the remaining 15%.
- Paid subscriptions renew on the first day of each UTC calendar month.
- When you subscribe mid-month, the initial charge and corresponding creator payout are proportional to the time remaining in that UTC month.
See Subscribe to a strategy and Unsubscribe from a strategy for the product steps.
How monthly profit-cap usage is calculated
Section titled “How monthly profit-cap usage is calculated”Recalibr8 calculates account-wide monthly usage with this formula:
profit cap usage = max(0, realized trading PnL after exchange fees - settled marketplace strategy fees after refunds)- Realized trading PnL after exchange fees counts trading results that have been realized during the UTC month after the exchange’s trading fees.
- Settled Marketplace strategy fees after refunds counts eligible strategy fees that have settled, reduced by any completed refunds.
max(0, …)means usage cannot become negative. Trading losses do not create extra cap capacity.
Examples
Section titled “Examples”$1,500 realized profit and $300 in settled strategy fees
max(0, $1,500 - $300) = $1,200 of profit-cap usage.
$1,000 strategy fee with a $1,000 cap
The account can realize up to $2,000 before usage reaches the $1,000 cap: max(0, $2,000 - $1,000) = $1,000.
A losing month
If realized trading PnL after exchange fees is -$250 and settled strategy fees are $50, usage is max(0, -$250 - $50) = $0. The loss does not increase the plan’s cap.
Estimate your first month
Section titled “Estimate your first month”The calculator applies time-based UTC proration to the app profit cap and the selected Marketplace strategy charge. Its monthly max payout estimate is the full-month plan cap plus the selected settled strategy fee, matching the profit-cap formula above. Free remains $0 because it is simulation only; Enterprise remains unlimited.
Planning estimate
First-month profit cap calculator
Choose an app plan, the monthly price of one Marketplace strategy, and the UTC start date. A $0 strategy cost represents a free strategy.
Estimates use the selected date at 00:00 UTC and assume the strategy fee settles without a refund. They do not include taxes, localized prices, or payment-processing adjustments. “Monthly max payout” is a usage-limit illustration—not a promised payout, expected return, or loss limit.
UTC billing cycles and proration
Section titled “UTC billing cycles and proration”Recalibr8 uses UTC calendar months for profit caps and monthly subscription timing. A month begins at 00:00 UTC on its first day and ends immediately before the next UTC month begins.
| Event | When it takes effect | Billing and access behavior |
|---|---|---|
| First app subscription | Immediately after successful checkout | The first month’s charge and profit cap are time-prorated for the remaining UTC month. |
| App-plan upgrade | Immediately | Higher-plan access and limits apply immediately. The current month’s upgrade amount and cap are time-prorated. |
| Marketplace purchase | Immediately after successful checkout | Access begins immediately. A mid-month charge and creator payout are proportional to the time remaining in the UTC month. |
| App-plan downgrade | Next UTC month | The current plan remains in effect through the current period; the lower plan begins with the next monthly cycle. |
| Cancellation | End of the current period | The entitlement remains available through the paid period unless it otherwise expires or is revoked. Renewal is stopped. |
The final amount charged can include localized pricing, currency conversion, and applicable taxes. Always review the checkout confirmation before purchasing or changing a plan.
Failed renewal and the 72-hour grace period
Section titled “Failed renewal and the 72-hour grace period”If a renewal payment fails, the subscription enters a 72-hour restricted grace period:
- Strategy jobs that are already running may continue during grace.
- New live allocations are blocked during grace.
- Updating the payment method or completing the renewal can restore normal access.
- If no valid entitlement is restored before grace ends, live access ends and affected jobs follow the non-live behavior shown in the product.
The grace period is temporary access protection, not a free extension of the subscription or a promise that every current job will continue uninterrupted.
What happens when the profit cap is reached
Section titled “What happens when the profit cap is reached”When account usage reaches the applicable monthly profit cap, affected strategy jobs move into simulation mode.
This transition does not liquidate, close, transfer, or otherwise change positions that already exist at your connected exchange. Those positions remain at the exchange and remain your responsibility. Review them directly in the exchange account.
At the start of the next UTC month, profit-cap usage resets. Eligible jobs may return to live mode when the account still has a valid entitlement and satisfies the applicable live-trading requirements.
Subscription statuses
Section titled “Subscription statuses”| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | The entitlement is valid for the current period and its normal features are available. |
| Grace | A renewal failed and the subscription is inside the 72-hour restricted grace period. Current jobs may continue, but new live allocations are blocked. |
| Past due | A required payment remains unpaid. Access may be restricted and the entitlement can expire if payment is not resolved. |
| Canceling | Renewal has been turned off. The entitlement normally remains valid until the displayed period-end date. |
| Expired | The paid or grace period ended without a valid renewal. The subscription no longer grants access. |
| Revoked | The entitlement ended immediately rather than at its ordinary period end. It no longer grants access; contact support if this is unexpected. |
Billing FAQ
Section titled “Billing FAQ”Do I need both an app subscription and a Marketplace strategy subscription?
You need an eligible app subscription for real-money trading. You also need a Marketplace subscription when the strategy you want to use requires one. Your own strategies and free Marketplace strategies do not create a paid Marketplace fee, but live trading still requires an eligible app plan.
Can I use a free Marketplace strategy?
Yes. A free strategy has no Marketplace subscription charge. You can simulate it on Free; using it with real money requires an app subscription that supports live trading.
How do refunds affect billing and profit-cap usage?
Refund eligibility and processing depend on the checkout channel, applicable terms, and law. A completed Marketplace refund reduces the settled strategy fees used in the profit-cap formula. Apple or Google purchases may need to be handled through the applicable store. Contact support for Recalibr8 web-billing questions without sending full payment-card details.
Why was I charged less than a full month?
First app subscriptions and Marketplace strategy purchases are time-prorated when they begin after the first day of a UTC month. Paid Marketplace renewals then occur on the first day of each following UTC month.
What happens when I upgrade?
An upgrade takes effect immediately. The higher plan’s access and limits become available, and the current month’s charge and profit cap are adjusted using time-based proration for the remaining UTC month.
What happens when I downgrade or cancel?
A downgrade begins with the next UTC monthly cycle. Cancellation stops renewal at period end, while the current entitlement normally remains available until the displayed end date.
What happens when I exhaust the profit cap?
Affected jobs move to simulation. Recalibr8 does not liquidate or alter existing exchange positions. Eligible jobs may return to live mode in the next UTC month if the account still has a valid entitlement.
Does simulation mode protect me from losses on existing positions?
No. Simulation prevents affected jobs from continuing live execution through Recalibr8, but it does not change positions already held at an exchange. Monitor and manage those positions directly with the exchange.
Are taxes included in the prices shown in the app?
Taxes and localized store pricing vary by location and checkout channel. The final checkout screen is authoritative for the amount, currency, taxes, billing period, and renewal terms that apply to your purchase.
Manage billing
Section titled “Manage billing”Open Settings → Subscription → Change Plan to review or change an app plan. Marketplace subscriptions are managed from the subscribed strategy and your subscription settings. Confirm the account, checkout channel, effective date, renewal terms, and final amount before submitting a purchase or change.
