Connect an exchange

Web · iOS · Android

An exchange connection lets Recalibr8 read balances and place or cancel trades on your behalf. Your funds remain in your exchange account.

  • Secure the exchange account with its own two-factor authentication.
  • Complete any identity verification required by the exchange.
  • Create a new API key exclusively for Recalibr8. Do not reuse a key from another app.
  • Record the secret when the exchange displays it; many exchanges show it only once.
  • Open the exchange-specific guide above before choosing permissions.
  1. Sign in and open Settings.
  2. In API Connections, select Connect Exchange or Add.
  3. Choose Binance, Bybit, MEXC, or Bitget.
  4. Enter the API key and API secret generated by the exchange.
  5. If the secure connection dialog says an IP allowlist is required, copy the addresses shown there into the exchange’s API-key allowlist. The public docs intentionally do not publish these addresses.
  6. Select Save Access. Recalibr8 verifies the credentials by requesting the exchange balance.

Recalibr8 makes an authenticated balance request. A successful check confirms that the key, secret, permissions, and any IP restriction are compatible. It does not place a trade during connection setup.

Message or symptom What to check
Invalid key or signature Copy the key and secret again without extra spaces. Recreate the key if the secret is no longer visible.
Permission denied Enable account/read and trading permission for the markets you intend to use. Keep withdrawals disabled.
IP not allowed Add every address shown in the authenticated Recalibr8 connection dialog to the exchange key’s allowlist.
Geographic restriction Confirm that both the exchange account and the relevant API products are available in your jurisdiction.
Empty balance Confirm that funds are in the wallet/account type accessible to the API key.
