Connect an exchange
An exchange connection lets Recalibr8 read balances and place or cancel trades on your behalf. Your funds remain in your exchange account.
Supported exchanges
Section titled “Supported exchanges”Before you connect
Section titled “Before you connect”- Secure the exchange account with its own two-factor authentication.
- Complete any identity verification required by the exchange.
- Create a new API key exclusively for Recalibr8. Do not reuse a key from another app.
- Record the secret when the exchange displays it; many exchanges show it only once.
- Open the exchange-specific guide above before choosing permissions.
Connect in Recalibr8
Section titled “Connect in Recalibr8”- Sign in and open Settings.
- In API Connections, select Connect Exchange or Add.
- Choose Binance, Bybit, MEXC, or Bitget.
- Enter the API key and API secret generated by the exchange.
- If the secure connection dialog says an IP allowlist is required, copy the addresses shown there into the exchange’s API-key allowlist. The public docs intentionally do not publish these addresses.
- Select Save Access. Recalibr8 verifies the credentials by requesting the exchange balance.
- Open Settings → Exchange Connections.
- Select the exchange and choose Connect.
- Enter the API key and API secret.
- Follow the in-app IP-allowlist instructions if required. Use only the addresses displayed inside your authenticated connection flow.
- Select Save & Connect and wait for the health check.
- Open Settings, then select the exchange you want to add.
- Choose Connect and enter the API key and API secret.
- Add the in-app outbound addresses to the exchange key’s allowlist if the connection screen requires it.
- Select Save & Connect. Recalibr8 tests the connection and loads its balance.
How connection verification works
Section titled “How connection verification works”Recalibr8 makes an authenticated balance request. A successful check confirms that the key, secret, permissions, and any IP restriction are compatible. It does not place a trade during connection setup.
If connection fails
Section titled “If connection fails”| Message or symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| Invalid key or signature | Copy the key and secret again without extra spaces. Recreate the key if the secret is no longer visible. |
| Permission denied | Enable account/read and trading permission for the markets you intend to use. Keep withdrawals disabled. |
| IP not allowed | Add every address shown in the authenticated Recalibr8 connection dialog to the exchange key’s allowlist. |
| Geographic restriction | Confirm that both the exchange account and the relevant API products are available in your jurisdiction. |
| Empty balance | Confirm that funds are in the wallet/account type accessible to the API key. |
