Glossary
Use this glossary when reviewing a strategy or portfolio. Metrics only make sense with their time period, data source, sample size, and market conditions.
Performance and portfolio
Section titled “Performance and portfolio”Assets under management (AUM)
Section titled “Assets under management (AUM)”The total value allocated to a strategy across its subscriptions. AUM is not the strategy creator’s personal balance and is not the same as profit.
AUM cap
Section titled “AUM cap”The maximum total allocation the strategy owner allows across subscribers. A strategy can stop accepting new allocations when this cap is reached.
Allocation
Section titled “Allocation”The amount or share of funds assigned to an exchange, asset, or strategy.
Drawdown
Section titled “Drawdown”The decline from a portfolio or strategy’s previous peak to a later low. Maximum drawdown is the largest such decline during the measured period.
P&L (profit and loss)
Section titled “P&L (profit and loss)”The change in value attributed to trading. Positive P&L is profit; negative P&L is loss. Recalibr8 may show daily, monthly, per-trade, or total P&L.
Realised P&L
Section titled “Realised P&L”Profit or loss locked in when a position is reduced or closed.
Unrealised P&L
Section titled “Unrealised P&L”The current gain or loss on an open position. It changes with the market until the position is closed.
Sharpe ratio
Section titled “Sharpe ratio”A risk-adjusted performance measure comparing average returns with the variability of those returns. A higher positive value can indicate more return per unit of observed volatility, but it does not measure every risk and is unreliable with too little data.
Subscriber count
Section titled “Subscriber count”The number of users currently subscribed to a strategy. Popularity is not evidence that the strategy is safe or suitable for you.
Total earnings
Section titled “Total earnings”The cumulative earnings shown for the selected scope and period. Check whether the view includes realised results, unrealised results, simulation, fees, or only particular strategies.
Win ratio / win rate
Section titled “Win ratio / win rate”The percentage of completed trades counted as profitable:
profitable completed trades ÷ all completed trades × 100
A high win ratio can coexist with poor performance if losing trades are much larger than winning trades.
Trading and markets
Section titled “Trading and markets”Base currency
Section titled “Base currency”The first asset in a trading pair. In BTC/USDT, BTC is the base currency.
Quote currency
Section titled “Quote currency”The asset used to price the base currency. In BTC/USDT, USDT is the quote currency.

Section titled “Market order”An instruction to buy or sell immediately at the best currently available prices. The final execution price can differ from the price visible when the order is sent.
Limit order
Section titled “Limit order”An instruction to trade only at a specified price or better. It may fill partially or not at all.
Position
Section titled “Position”An open market exposure created by one or more trades.
Slippage
Section titled “Slippage”The difference between the expected execution price and the actual price, often caused by volatility, latency, or limited liquidity.
Spread
Section titled “Spread”The difference between the best available buy price and sell price.
Stablecoin / stable base currency
Section titled “Stablecoin / stable base currency”A token designed to track a reference value, commonly a fiat currency. A stablecoin can still depeg or face issuer, liquidity, and regulatory risk.
Trading pair
Section titled “Trading pair”Two assets that can be traded against each other, such as ETH/USDT. A pair supported by one exchange may not be available on another.
Volatility
Section titled “Volatility”The size and frequency of price changes. Higher volatility generally means larger potential gains and losses over short periods.

Gated strategy
Section titled “Gated strategy”A strategy that requires a gating code before an eligible user can subscribe.

Section titled “IP allowlist”A restriction that permits API requests only from approved network addresses. Use only the outbound addresses displayed inside the authenticated Recalibr8 exchange-connection flow.
Non-custodial exchange connection
Section titled “Non-custodial exchange connection”Your assets remain at your exchange. Recalibr8 uses the API permissions you grant to read data and trade. This reduces custody risk but does not eliminate trading, credential, software, or exchange risk.
Time-based one-time password: the rotating six-digit code produced by compatible authenticator apps for two-factor authentication.
Withdrawal permission
Section titled “Withdrawal permission”An exchange API capability to move assets out of the account. Recalibr8 does not need it; leave it disabled.
